Adventures in Computer Land

It's really a shame that this wasn't the week of adoration or thanksgiving cause I've been caught up in joy since this afternoon. After the adventure last night of my computer crashing, getting a replacement, and considering that I was going to have to rewrite a paper, I woke up with a rather bad headache- coupled with NOT wanting to go to class.

But I went because I'm me and I couldn't think of a good enough reason not to go. Positive thing 1: While in class I set up AIRBEAR. Now if you haven't done this you won't realize that this is a feat for the technically challenged. Especially after having only seen it done on a Mac, which is different than a PC. But I did so I rejoiced in the simple fact that I had remembered how to do it.

Positive thing 2: Adam Horton is the Jesus of computers I think, because he miraculously was able to save my hard drive and resurrect my paper. Okay that is all very irreverent, but keep in mind that this is 3rd time I've had a computer or hard drive crash in the last 5 years and I'm almost never able to get back any files. I had pretty much given up any hope that my files would see the light of day again, but he did what I imagine Frye's charges me $200 to do and my files are now on 3 different hard drives. Also, the hard drive isn't dead, just the computer, so hopefully when I'm home I can use my dad's computer to get everything off of the hard drive and onto my external hard drive.

So the lesson learned today is that it is beneficial not to panic. No tears were shed, no anxiety medication taken. Perhaps I'm actually learning how to manage things?
